"US$" appears only where the broker names US dollars, a bare "$" as the broker prints it. Each "+" reads "register" where we read the regulator's register, otherwise "broker's statement". The brokers on this page take Malaysian residents through companies licensed outside Malaysia, not by Malaysian regulators. Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) states in BNM’s statement of 12 July 2024: “Forex trading, except those that are carried out with banks licensed by BNM, is illegal!” You can read the full statement through the link above before you open any account.

How does copy trading work?

Copy trading links your account to a strategy provider, and every trade the provider opens is copied into your account in proportion to the amount you allocate. You keep the risk and the losses, and a provider’s past results do not predict future results. Costs vary by service: some providers charge a performance fee or a subscription, and every copied trade carries the spread and commission of your own account.

Which copy trading services do these brokers offer?

Each broker names its own copy product, and some say who runs it. Fintrix Markets offers Fintrix Social Trading, copy trading on MT5 run on third-party software. TabTrade Social is operated by Pelican, and TabTrade has also announced DupliTrade. IC Markets lists IC Social, powered by Pelican Trading, alongside cTrader Copy Trading, ZuluTrade and Signal Start. OANDA’s copy trading is built into MT5. MultiBank Group offers Copy Trading (Social Trading), Hantec Markets offers Hantec Social, Pepperstone offers Pepperstone copy trading on mobile and desktop, eToro offers CopyTrader and SmartPortfolio, and Purple Trading offers cTrader Copy. The chart below shows which platforms each broker names.

Each broker's own pages, read from a Malaysian connection on 29 and 30 September 2026, name the platforms shown: MT5 for eight brokers, MT4 for six, cTrader for three and TradingView for four. The figures are the brokers' own statements about platforms, not copy services.

What are the risks of copy trading?

A copied strategy can lose money just as your own trading can, and leverage magnifies any loss on both sides of the copy. A provider you follow can change their strategy, pause, or stop trading altogether. Copied trades can also fill at a slightly different price from the provider’s, which adds up over many trades. Fees, spreads and commissions come out of your returns regardless of the result. Set a stop-loss or a maximum allocation before you start, so one bad run does not take your whole allocation.

How to start copy trading in Malaysia

Pick a broker from the comparison table and read the company named on its sign-up page before you register. Open the account, verify your details, then open the broker’s copy service from its platform or app. When you choose a provider, look at their trading history, their drawdown and the fees they charge, and allocate a small amount first while you see how their trades copy into your account. Where the broker offers a demo, practise on it before you commit real money. Our Best Forex Trading Apps in Malaysia (2026) page covers the mobile side, and our Best Forex Demo Accounts in Malaysia (2026) page lists the demo options.

How we check that a copy trading broker takes Malaysians

Every broker on this page except the two editors’ picks is on our Malaysian list because a span on the broker’s own site, read from a Malaysian connection on 30 September 2026, names Malaysia as served. Fintrix Markets and TabTrade are our editors’ picks, placed on the list by our editors. The full list sits on our Best Forex Brokers in Malaysia (2026) hub page.

FAQs

What is considered copy trading?
Copy trading is a service where your account automatically reproduces the trades another trader opens. When they buy or sell, your account copies the position in proportion to the funds you allocate. Brokers that take Malaysian residents each name their own product, such as Fintrix Social Trading, TabTrade Social, CopyTrader on eToro, or cTrader Copy, and you choose which trader to follow.
Can copy trading be profitable?
Yes, when the trader you copy performs well, and it can lose money when they do not. Your results depend on who you copy, the markets, the leverage used, and the spreads and fees your own account pays. Treat any profit claim you see elsewhere with caution and ask for a real track record before you allocate funds.
Is copy trading risky?
Yes. You are copying another trader's decisions, and if their positions lose, your account loses too. You also carry the same CFD risks, including leveraged losses and overnight fees, and a swap-free account may charge a service fee instead. You can limit the damage by starting with a demo account, copying small amounts, and watching the copied trades rather than leaving them unattended.
How much do copy traders make?
Earnings depend entirely on the trader you follow, the markets, the leverage used, and the spreads and fees on your own account. There is no reliable figure for how much copy traders make. Ask for a verifiable track record, look at the drawdown, and allocate a small amount first before you commit more.
Which app is used for copy trading in Malaysia?
It depends on the broker you sign up with. Fintrix Markets offers MT4, MT5 and Social Trading through mobile apps, and Pepperstone offers copy trading on mobile and desktop. Check that the service you want is in the broker's own app before you deposit, since each broker runs its copy service differently.
Is copy trading good for beginners?
Yes, if you begin carefully. Copy trading lets a new trader follow experienced ones instead of picking every trade alone, and brokers such as Fintrix Markets with a 45-day demo or Hantec Markets with a 30-day demo let you practise allocation first. The trade-off is that beginners can follow losses just as easily as gains, so start with funds you can afford to lose.
How do I start copy trading in Malaysia?
Pick a broker whose copy service suits you, open an account with the company that takes Malaysian residents, verify your identity, and fund the account. Try the demo first if one is offered, choose the trader you want to copy, set the amount to allocate, and the service reproduces their trades in your account. Watch the results and adjust your allocation as you learn.
Does cTrader have copy trading?
Yes. Purple Trading offers cTrader Copy, and its RAW and Standard accounts both start from $500. IC Markets also lists cTrader Copy Trading alongside IC Social, ZuluTrade, and Signal Start. If cTrader is your platform, check which account type the broker requires before you fund it.
