Best Islamic Forex Accounts in Malaysia (2026)

An Islamic forex account is a broker's swap-free trading account, not a bank deposit account. Fintrix Markets, first on our Malaysian list (editors' picks first), offers Islamic swap-free accounts for eligible traders in selected regions. Each takes Malaysian residents through companies licensed outside Malaysia, and TabTrade and IC Markets state fees instead of swap.

Amounts show "US$" only where the broker names US dollars; a bare "$" is printed as the broker prints it. The licence word reads "register" where we read the regulator's register, and "broker's statement" otherwise. Islamic (Swap Free) accounts sit among Fintrix Markets' Zero, Standard and Cent account types, offered to eligible traders in selected regions, with no fee amount stated and no word on whether Malaysia is among the regions, so confirm that at sign-up. Its page says alternative charges or conditions may apply, so I would read the fee schedule. The demo expires after 45 days, with non-expiry on request. Fintrix Markets takes Malaysian residents through Fintrix Markets Ltd in Mauritius.

#2 of 5 on this page

A dedicated Swap-Free account sits among TabTrade's Standard, Edge, VIP and Cent accounts, for supported regions, with a service fee charged per average lot once after each seven calendar days, per its published fee schedule. I would compare that fee against your holding period. The Edge account averages 0.03 pips on the EUR/USD, the lowest published average among these five, and the Standard and Edge accounts open at $0. TabTrade takes Malaysian residents through TabTrade (Mauritius) Ltd in Mauritius.

The Swap Free account at IC Markets covers its Raw Spread and Standard types, and an overnight holding fee applies. MultiBank Group's Islamic Account, also called a Swap-Free Account, is a separate type alongside Standard, Pro and ECN, with no fee amount, time limit or region limit stated. The ECN account averages 0.1 pips on the EUR/USD but needs $10,000, while the Standard account starts at $50, which suits a smaller balance. Swap Free at XTB is available for specific periods and not for all products, with no fee amount stated. It runs on xStation 5; XTB removed MetaTrader 4 on 19 April 2024 and offers no MT4 or MT5 now. Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) wrote on 12 July 2024 that “Forex trading, except those that are carried out with banks licensed by BNM, is illegal!” (BNM’s post). All the brokers on this page take Malaysian residents through companies licensed outside Malaysia, not by Malaysian regulators.

What is an Islamic forex account?

An Islamic or swap-free account, as our Islamic account guide explains, is a trading account at a forex and CFD broker that charges no overnight swap interest on positions held past the daily rollover, though a broker may charge an administration or holding fee instead. It is not an Islamic bank’s foreign-currency deposit account, the Account-i products, and it is not an Islamic share-dealing account. What replaces that interest, if anything, depends on the broker’s own terms.

How do swap-free terms compare between brokers?

Two of the five publish a fee in place of swap. TabTrade charges a service fee per average lot once after each seven calendar days, per its fee schedule, and IC Markets publishes a per-lot schedule of overnight holding fees, with grace days. Fintrix Markets, MultiBank Group and XTB state no fee amount, which does not show they charge none, and Fintrix Markets’ page says alternative charges or conditions may apply. Fintrix Markets and TabTrade gate the option by region. XTB states its swap-free accounts run for specific periods and not all products are swap free. Fintrix Markets names Zero, Standard and Cent; IC Markets names Raw Spread and Standard, on MT4, MT5 and cTrader. The chart below marks the platforms (MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView) each broker names on its own site.

The chart marks which of MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView each broker names, with XTB on xStation 5 alone. We read these pages from a Malaysian connection on 29 and 30 September 2026; the platforms are the brokers' own statements.

What did the National Fatwa Committee rule on forex?

The 98th Muzakarah of the National Fatwa Committee, sitting 13 to 15 February 2012, ruled that individual spot forex trading on electronic platforms is haram (JAKIM’s i-FIQH record), and a swap-free account does not by itself change that ruling. This page compares swap-free terms between brokers and does not issue a religious ruling.

What does a swap-free account cost?

TabTrade states a service fee charged per average lot once after each seven calendar days, and IC Markets publishes a per-lot schedule of overnight holding fees, with grace days. The spread and any commission still apply, so a fee in place of swap adds to your costs. Fintrix Markets, MultiBank Group and XTB state no fee amount, which does not show they charge none. For spreads, see our Lowest Spread Forex Brokers in Malaysia (2026).

How to open a swap-free account in Malaysia

I would start with the table and pick a broker. Read the company named on the sign-up page, because that entity would hold your account. Check that the swap-free option covers Malaysian residents, since Fintrix Markets says eligible traders in selected regions and TabTrade says supported regions, and neither names the regions. Select the swap-free or Islamic account type at sign-up, or request it from the client area, as the broker’s own instructions say. Read the fee schedule and any time limit, because XTB states its swap-free account is available for specific periods. Practise on a demo first, and see our Best Forex Demo Accounts in Malaysia (2026).

How we check that a swap-free broker takes Malaysians

Each broker here except the two editors’ picks sits on our Malaysian list because a span on its own site names Malaysia as served, which our Malaysian list check read from a Malaysian connection on 29 and 30 September 2026. We also read each broker’s swap-free terms from its own site. Fintrix Markets and TabTrade are our editors’ picks, placed on the list by our editors. The full list is on our Best Forex Brokers in Malaysia (2026).

FAQs

Which forex brokers offer an Islamic account in Malaysia?
Fintrix Markets, TabTrade, IC Markets, MultiBank Group and XTB all state on their own sites that they offer a swap-free or Islamic account, and all take Malaysian residents through companies licensed outside Malaysia. I compared their swap-free terms, eligible accounts and platforms. Each broker's wording differs, so read its account page before you sign up.
What is a swap-free forex account?
It is a trading account at a forex and CFD broker that charges no overnight swap interest on positions held past the daily rollover. A broker may charge an administration or holding fee instead, as TabTrade and IC Markets state, each publishing a fee schedule in place of swap. It is not an Islamic bank's foreign-currency deposit account or an Islamic share-dealing account.
Is an Islamic forex account free?
No, not always. TabTrade charges a service fee per average lot once after each seven calendar days, and IC Markets publishes a per-lot schedule of overnight holding fees, with grace days. Fintrix Markets, MultiBank Group and XTB state no fee amount, which does not show they charge none, so I would read each fee schedule.
Is there a time limit on a swap-free account?
Yes, at one of the five. XTB states its Swap Free Account is available for specific periods and that not all products are swap free. Fintrix Markets, TabTrade, IC Markets and MultiBank Group state no time limit, which does not show they have none, so I would read the current terms before you plan long holds.
How much do I need to deposit for a swap-free account?
XTB states US$1 on its Swap Free account. The other deposits quoted are for standard account types, such as $50 on MultiBank Group's Standard account and $0 on TabTrade's Standard and Edge accounts, and are not swap-free deposit figures. I would confirm the deposit for the account type you want.
Does a swap-free account work on MT4 or MT5?
Yes, at some brokers. IC Markets states its Swap Free account runs on MT4, MT5 and cTrader. Fintrix Markets, TabTrade and MultiBank Group name MT5 among their platforms, and XTB offers xStation 5 with no MetaTrader platforms. If MetaTrader matters to you, check that the swap-free option covers it.
Which account types can be swap-free?
Fintrix Markets names its Zero, Standard and Cent accounts as eligible for the swap-free option, and IC Markets names its Raw Spread and Standard types. TabTrade, MultiBank Group and XTB each state a separate swap-free or Islamic account type instead, so ask the broker which of its types the option covers.
