Each "+" shows the licence basis: "register" where we read the regulator's register, "broker's statement" where we did not. US$ marks US-dollar amounts; a bare $ stays as printed. The companies are licensed in Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Mauritius, Seychelles, and The Bahamas; we read the pages from a Malaysian connection on 29 and 30 September 2026.

MT5 broker reviews for Malaysian traders
1. Fintrix Markets
Category-weighted score 63.8. Published rating 73, which includes an editorial adjustment of +9.2. Adjustments are disclosed on every page they apply to; see our methodology.
MT5 runs on all eligible account types at Fintrix Markets, alongside MT4 and WebTrader, and the broker takes Malaysian residents through Fintrix Markets Ltd (Mauritius). I recommend the Zero account if cost is your priority: EUR/USD starts from 0.0 pips, with a US$200 deposit. If you are starting out, the Cent account asks US$10 and the Standard account US$0. The free demo carries US$100,000 in virtual funds for 45 days, and Fintrix Social Trading adds copy trading on MT5.

2. TabTrade
The Edge account publishes a 0.03 pips average on EUR/USD, the lowest published average among the 12 brokers here. TabTrade takes Malaysian residents through TabTrade (Mauritius) Ltd (Mauritius); MT5 is its platform, with no MT4 on offer, and both Edge and Standard accounts open from $0. Weigh its Swap-Free Account carefully: a service fee applies every seven calendar days. TabTrade Social, operated by Pelican, runs copy trading, with DupliTrade announced. The demo comes via the Secure Account Portal.

3. Pepperstone
I recommend the Razor account at Pepperstone if tight pricing matters to you: EUR/USD starts from 0.0 pips, and the broker takes Malaysian residents through Pepperstone Markets Limited (The Bahamas). MT5 runs on the Standard and Razor accounts, with MT4, cTrader, and TradingView alongside; both open at $0, though the minimum funding amount is $10 or local equivalent. The free demo gives unlimited virtual balance, MT4 and MT5 demos run 60 days, and copy trading works on mobile and desktop.

4. IC Markets
MT5, MT4, cTrader, and TradingView make up IC Markets' platform list. The Raw Spread account averages 0.1 pips on EUR/USD and opens from $0; so does the Standard. I would read the Swap Free terms closely: they cover Raw Spread and Standard on MT4, MT5, and cTrader, but an overnight holding fee applies. IC Markets takes Malaysian residents through Raw Trading Ltd (Seychelles), and IC Social, powered by Pelican Trading, runs copy trading alongside cTrader Copy, ZuluTrade, and Signal Start.

5. OANDA
Pricing at OANDA splits two ways: core pricing starts from 0.1 pips on EUR/USD plus commission, while the spread-only account runs from 1 pip with no commission and costs at least US$10.00 per round turn. Copy trading is built into MT5, which joins fxTrade and TradingView, with no MT4 listed. The Standard account needs no initial deposit, and the demo comes via a sign-up form, Messenger, or Telegram. OANDA takes Malaysian residents through OANDA Global Markets Ltd (British Virgin Islands).

6. MultiBank Group
Standard, Pro, and ECN accounts carry three deposit levels at MultiBank Group, $50, $1,000, and $10,000, and that ladder is the trade-off: the ECN account averages 0.1 pips on EUR/USD. MT5 comes with MT4, web trader versions of both, Social Trading, and the MB Trader platform, and MultiBank Group takes Malaysian residents through MEX Atlantic Corporation (Cayman Islands). Copy Trading runs through Social Trading, and MultiBank also names an Islamic Account, called a Swap-Free Account.

7. IG Group
MT5 joins MT4, TradingView, and the IG web platform and app at IG Group, which takes Malaysian residents through IG International Limited (Bermuda). No minimum balance applies to the CFD trading account, though card funding needs US$50. I set IG's 1.13 pips EUR/USD average aside in any spread comparison: it covers the 12 weeks to 29 May 2020. The free demo gives you $20,000 in virtual funds on the IG online platform, and an MT4 demo is available.

8. FOREX.com
I like the demo terms at FOREX.com: it is free, runs 90 days, and carries $50,000 in virtual funds across the FOREX.com platforms, MT4, and MT5. The RAW Pricing account starts from 0.0 pips on EUR/USD plus commission, at least US$10.00 per round turn; the Standard Account asks $100. MT5 comes in a MetaTrader 5 Account and a RAW Spread MT5 Account, with an MT4 Account alongside, and FOREX.com takes Malaysian residents through GAIN Global Markets Inc. (Cayman Islands).

No deposit is required to open a live trading account at CMC Markets. MT5 runs on the CFD and FX Active accounts, alongside MT4, TradingView, and the CMC NextGen web platform, and the broker takes Malaysian residents through CMC Markets Bermuda Limited (Bermuda). The FX Active account starts from 0.0 pips on EUR/USD. Demos are free on all platforms; MT4 and MT5 demos run 30 days and expire after 30 days inactive, while the Next Generation demo does not expire.

The Hantec Pro account starts from 0.1 pips on EUR/USD, and both Pro and Global accounts open from US$10, which suits you if you want a small first deposit. MT5 joins MT4, Hantec WebTrader, and Hantec Mobile, and Hantec Markets takes Malaysian residents through Hantec Markets Ltd (Mauritius). I like the demo setup: it is free, runs 30 days on MT4 or MT5, and lets you select a virtual balance from $1,000 to $50,000. Hantec Social adds copy trading.

Other MT5 brokers on our Malaysian list

11. Purple Trading 54.5/100
AXSE Brokerage Ltd., Seychelles; Financial Services Authority of Seychelles register
Purple Trading runs MT5, MT4, and cTrader, with cTrader Copy, a $500 minimum, and a 0.3 pips average on its RAW account.

12. ATC Brokers 43.7/100
ATC Brokers Limited (Cayman Islands), Cayman Islands; Cayman Islands Monetary Authority register
ATC Brokers runs MT5 with a proprietary plug-in and a US$2,000 minimum for individual, joint, or corporate accounts.
Every broker on this page takes Malaysian residents through companies licensed outside Malaysia, not by Malaysian regulators. In a post dated 12 July 2024, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) wrote: “Forex trading, except those that are carried out with banks licensed by BNM, is illegal!” The full post remains on BNM’s official channel.
Which is better for forex in Malaysia, MT5 or MT4?
MT5 adds more timeframes, a built-in economic calendar, more pending order types, and both netting and hedging position modes, and in my opinion MT5 fits better unless you depend on older tools. One catch matters if you run robots: expert advisors written for MT4 do not run on MT5 without being rewritten. Nine of the 12 pair MT4 with MT5: Fintrix Markets, Pepperstone, IC Markets, MultiBank Group, IG Group, FOREX.com, CMC Markets, Hantec Markets, and Purple Trading. TabTrade, OANDA, and ATC Brokers offer MT5 without MT4. The chart below marks every platform each broker names, and my MT4 shortlist is on the Best MT4 Brokers in Malaysia (2026) page.
Which MT5 broker has the lowest EUR/USD spread?
TabTrade holds the lowest published EUR/USD average, 0.03 pips on its Edge account. IC Markets averages 0.1 pips on its Raw Spread account, MultiBank Group 0.1 on ECN, and Purple Trading 0.3 on RAW. Minimums are floors, not averages, and in my opinion you should never weigh one against the other: Fintrix Markets, Pepperstone, FOREX.com, and CMC Markets publish EUR/USD from 0.0 pips, OANDA from 0.1 pips on core pricing plus commission, and Hantec Markets from 0.1 pips on Hantec Pro. ATC Brokers publishes no spread. Read my fuller breakdown on the Lowest Spread Forex Brokers in Malaysia (2026) page.
What is the minimum deposit for an MT5 account in Malaysia?
Seven ask nothing to open your MT5 account: Fintrix Markets US$0 on Standard, TabTrade $0 on Standard and Edge, Pepperstone $0 on Standard and Razor, though its minimum funding amount is $10 or local equivalent, IC Markets $0 on Raw Spread and Standard, OANDA no initial deposit required, IG Group no minimum balance, and CMC Markets none required. The other five publish a minimum: Hantec Markets US$10, MultiBank Group $50, FOREX.com $100, Purple Trading $500, and ATC Brokers US$2,000.
Which MT5 brokers offer a free demo account?
All 12 state a demo, and seven of them call it free. Six state a length: Fintrix Markets 45 days with US$100,000, FOREX.com 90 days with $50,000, Pepperstone 60 days, ATC Brokers 60 days on MT5 with an ongoing option for live account holders, and CMC Markets and Hantec Markets 30 days. CMC’s Next Generation demo does not expire, and Fintrix offers non-expiry on request. My demo picks are on the Best Forex Demo Accounts in Malaysia (2026) page.
How to start trading on MT5 from Malaysia
Pick your broker from the table above and read the company named on its sign-up page, so you know who stands behind the account. Open the account on the broker’s site, then download MT5 for desktop, iPhone, or Android and log in with the server details the broker gives you. Practise on a demo first, and check the spread and any commission before your first live trade, since costs vary by account type. My app-by-app view is on the Best Forex Trading Apps in Malaysia (2026) page.
How we check that an MT5 broker takes Malaysians
For 10 of the 12, we read a span on the broker’s own site, from a Malaysian connection on 30 September 2026, that names Malaysia as served, such as a sign-up country list or a Malaysian support number, and the ”+” in the module shows which span. Fintrix Markets and TabTrade are our editors’ picks, placed by our editors. The Best Forex Brokers in Malaysia (2026) hub page carries the full Malaysian list.
