CMC Markets are a bunch of thieving crooks, this market is hard enough without these bandits making it harder.

I have been trading with these bandits for about 10 weeks in which time I have increased my account X 24.

My complaint about these bandits are listed below.

1) Take a trade and the spread has changed on cable upto 29 pips, befor you are able to place a stop.

2) Always steal money from you when you close a trade.

3) Steal money again, it the time it takes to open and close Market Maker, with no trades rolling.

4) Stop hunt you.

5) On a OCO trade, all other brokers made the target 5, but CMC missed by 2 pips.

6) Customer service is excellent when you sign up, but don't bother to answer your queries, when you are making money, and when they do you may aswell talk to a brick wall.

So if you want to avoid the latter, don't deal with these, HIGHWAY MEN.

I'd like to back up Daniel F's review from 2008-03-13.

I've been trading FOREX with CMC Markets for nearly 2 years and my experience has been largely very positive. Their customer service has been called on several times by me and they've always been courteous and helpful. Having a local presence was important to me and they are a well run and honest outfit - I've been to their offices and have also been treated to their hospitality. They are good people who care about customer service.

I have never had an issue with requotes except at times when the price is bouncing allover the place or there is a news event - in the case of a news event, imagine 10000 people all trying to fill an order at the same time - there's a limit to what their systems can handle simultaneously so you need to work around this (like setting up Limit/Stop/OCO orders in advance). When I have got a requote, it is typically only a few pips from where I intended to enter. I think there's only been one occasion when the requote has been more than 15-20 pips and it was on a very big news announcement where the price had gapped 50 pips.

In terms of how they deal with your money, I have found them extremely fast and reliable in both depositing money into my trading account and completing withdrawals. I believe you can tell a lot about an organisation by how it handles your money and in this instance they are absolutely professional and almost without fault (I did once experience a delay getting some cash back but they handled it well once I raised it with them).

Having said all that, I will make some comments about the platform itself:
1) Sometimes it can take a while for a trade to be acknowledged/accepted. I can normally tell when a trade is accepted automatically or had to wait for a human to press a button at the other end (determined by the size of the position I believe). You have to be patient and wait - if you aren't sure if a trade has been executed, then look in the executed trades log rather than pressing buttons again.

2) It's Java based and does terrible things to my PC due to being a resource hog (randomly can't open mail, excel, interferes with Firefox plus more). If you are going to have lots of windows (charts, price boxes etc) up then you should think about using a dedicated PC that's for trading only. I run a 2Gb Pentium D 3.4 Ghz on Windows XP and have a total of 6 charts

CMC are an absolute joke! They just changed their charting package...in the middle of the trading week!!! Not only that, but it wiped off ALL my settings AND it isn't even an improvementon their previous charts!!! In fact they've gone backwards. Basic info is missing. I now cannot trade because of it. GOODBYE CMC. IT HASN'T BEEN A PLEASURABLE EXPERIENCE. THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those of you who open your moths and just Gab the beast about CMC markets don't know what you are talking about. I agree with most of the other reviewers who say you need to change your exploitative trading style from news trading into proper technical analysis and save yourself some money. It would seem as though for those of you, no matter where you go you will still lose money and blame the broker due to the small timer mentality that news trading gives. The long and short of it is I have been trading with CMC for sometime now and I consider them very honest. Their charting tools are quite good as well. I had a little problem when I first started with them because I was getting trades filled in that I thought I had set to take profit. But that was as a result of my understanding of how their platform operates. After a few phone calls to customer services and they talked me through a detailed explanation of how the platform works I have never had problems. I even requested from them to set me up a demo account so that I can become familiar with their particular trading platform and they did that. A demo account for life. You may just have been in thesame situation as I was: not knowing your way round the platform and how to operate it. Instead of asking questions you are here pointing fingers.

All negative comments are true, I would touch these guys with a 10 feet poll. No execution, they roll you over at different prices charge you interest and never credit you correctly. They have closed the operation in US. and you will never get the $100 bonus they promised you.

It is a scam. Demo and real trading with CMC have got a huge differance. Requotes are all the time, even if the price stays for 15 seconds. For example, I wanted to sell at .6098, price moved to better .6102 and they offered the price to sell at .6010 and it takes about 10 secs to enter to the market. Pending orders don't work properly as well. They will fill your order only if the price moved about 15-20 pips further. Fast execution, tight spreads and (100$ bonus) are lie advertisement to attract new customers because old ones become less and less. So no way to earn money with CMC. Also those who give them 4 or 5 stars rating connected with them. Do not trust them and stay away.

Above all who posted HERE TO DATE I worked for them. Put it this way..their entire operation is not hedged which means they trade directly against you the investor whever you live. Owner went from 10000 pound in 1989 to 1 billion today, how? hint it aint the commission your paying

when gold last ran up over 1000, i had an order that should have got me in long, and the resulting bull run would have made me very happy. HOWEVER the long order mysteriously chose not to trigger, even though in the money, and i missed out on a large chunk of $$ b4 i woke up and got to the computer.

not only that, the stops dont work properly, if a trade goes against you, theyll eat your whole account.

customer service was also terrible.

these guys are sharks. dont touch 'em.

Traded with CMCuk last year. They stink with a capital S. When you are profitable they are not happy and look for ways to scam and steal from you. I hit a BUY button on a USD/SEK trade once and got filled on the SELL side. (I dont even take alcohol) Happened a few more times I called customer services so many times they ask you to send log files that dont exist. All other trades are now requotes news times or NOT!

I opened an account with this company not long after they started back in late 90's. They marketed under the name of Deal4Free in the early days. I have traded stock index futures, gold

I wrote an extensive review earlier on this page. A LOT of things have happened since that time. I have given no rating this time because how good CMC is as a broker depends on YOU and your trading style, therefore, I would rate them excellently for the 90% of trading that is conventional trading and poorly for what may be regarded as exploitative trading which is what my trading was tending toward although I did not know this.

Firstly, I have placed well over 1,000 trades with CMC and have been with them for over 15 months. I use their platform very regularly, trading numerous times a week, and have found it very customizable, in fact it is like home to me. Overall CMC are honest in terms of price feeds and I believe the stop hunting accusations below are an absolute myth as I often open up the free charts on fxstreet while I trade to compare them with each other

I was doing some live testing with CMC in the stock CFD department which didn't turn out so well. So I though well lets do some forex trading with the leftover money instead (my regular dealer is Oanda) I was doing the same trades same stops or in most cases I increased the stops a few pips to handle the slightly wider spreads. Well even with the wider stops I was getting taken out on the CMC trades but not the Oanda ones, (I run pretty tight stops). This afternoon when Aussi data came out, CMC pricing was 15 pips off what Oanda, FXCM and Saxobank was showing, WTF. Twice in the last 24 hours I had stops that some how just disapeared from the system resulting in rather large losses. Yesterday I tried to cancel a order about 30 seconds before news, it took 15 minutes before I knew if I was filled or I cancelled in time, of course it all worked to CMC advantage. Their Platform is rather clumsy if you ask me. In short stay away, I personally prefer Oanda, less BS there, but less leverage. I think I would even prefer FXCM over CMC, but that's a tough call. I am not sure I would call them a scam, but 1 star is also way to generous, in my humble opinion.
