I have been trading with CMS for 3 years and just started to get profitable (yes really) so I came looking to see if I could continue with these people. I am pleased to see that it looks like the answer is 'yes'.
Just for the record I also run an FXCM account and have discovered the following:- a trailing stop is a double-edged sword; when spreads are large on FXCM then slippage or re-quote is likely on CMS, the same can happen when the price is bouncing around a lot; sometimes there have been large spikes on prices and I have mostly made profit if I happened to be watching at the time (in and out in less than 1 minute). I am fairly happy with CMS. Reading other peoples' rants about various brokers it seems CMS are Ok. I emailed them about a year ago to check their opinion/view on scalping and they replied that they had no objection to traders who wanted to do that. My own experience is that scalping can be very high risk and traders should bear that in mind against the market conditions when trading. About 15 posts down you will find an entry by Keith Mason (also from the UK). I cannot disagree with anything he has written. To succeed in this arena you need determination, persistence and the ability to learn from your mistakes. Anybody who is unable to see their own contribution to a losing trade (especially the bigger losers) had better stick with demo accounts. Here's wishing you successful trading and a prosperous New Year! ![]() Author: AZ-Heat

60% of my exists are reqoutes. If I dont have a limit order set then I have trouble closing a postion. This all started after complaining about several price spikes that were costing me money. They gave me back 50% of my losses on those, (thanks for giving me back MY money, SNAKES) but then thats when the reqoutes started. I was happy with them untill then

I had some terrible problems with the demo account, mainly being unable to set stops and limits. Kept running into javascript errors, then the crash hang. Unable to get on for 3-10 hours during a normal trade day. I was able to troubleshoot it back to their server program, so it wasn't my computer or connection causing it.
Steadily, I lost 70% of my demo cash. Not because I'm a bad trader, simply because the platform didn't work correctly. The problem occured most obviously while trading multiple currencies. After looking checking out their FORUM, I discovered that others had the same problem (but with live accounts...just awful) in the exact same time frames when my troubles occurred. I wanted to reset the demo account and start over, so thinking it might do it if I ran it down to zero, I launched into a total loss trading scheme. Unfortunately it backfired in a way - the ridiculous stops and limits I set for different currencies vaulted the old balance up 600%. Then it crashed when the limits were hit. Although I can prove that the trades were there - right place, right time - some kind of payoff should have taken place, but miraculously, the old balance was unchanged - no increase in funds. So I had to ask myself, "what if it had been real money?". The platform would have screwed me big time. Then I thought, "Why would you create a platform designed to kill off potential customers?" They want people to get live accounts, right?....that's how they make their money...why would they turn them off from the get go? So I decided to email my account manager and get some answers. I also requested that the account be reset if possible. It's been two weeks now, and still no reply. I'm thinking, and so are my friends, that this is a scam outfit. ![]() Author: John

Fine company at all. VT 2 is so far the best for technical traders. Good capitalization. Also noted some troubles but with these retail companies common thing. Their services and feed has been recently updated and works good for me now.

I've used many broker practice accounts and found CMS one of the best. When I went live about 4 months ago, it was with CMS. They are my only live account. So far I've been happy with the service. Executions are good. I only get requoted when I'm trying to bail a fast moving position and the price changes during the multi-step process. That's a pain, but I choose to not have one-click buying and selling.
I made my first withdrawal last week and it took a couple days--not bad and less time then they said it would take. I have a fast connection and rarely have problems logging on or staying on (though it's frustrating on those occasions when it happens). My only complaints are no commodities (Onanda let's you trade gold and silver) and no trailing stops. Someone mentioned trailing stops on here so maybe they do and I don't know how to use them, but as far as I can tell, it's not an option. ![]() Author: Karsten Goderstad

I've been trading with them for 5 years, now. The only problem I've had is losing the connection once in a while. The only thing I don't like is you have to be connected in order to use the trailing stop.
I've been requoted twice in the last 2 months while trading at newstime. I'm surprised by the complaints. I love the charts. One thing I've tested recently is taking money out during these economic times. Twice I've requested withdrawals in the morning, and the money was in my bank by the next afternoon. So, I'm not going anywhere. ![]() Author: HOOK

Just an update to my last post which was positive.
I still haven't had any problem with CMS. I do not trade during news so I do not get requoted. I usually trade on a cable connection long term trades, I do however scalp the hell out of the market about i day a week and I DO NOT GET requoted even when scalping. The only time I get requoted is when I try to trade on the road from my laptop on WIFI. But common sense will tell you that my connection on WIFI in the middle of nowhere is not the best and takes time to process. So I do not trade on my laptop. DUH I have withdrawn funds weekly sometimes significant amounts and it always hits my account 2 days after request. I do not trade with indicators on their platform (I use MT4) I just excecute trades on the platform. Ocassionally I will see a price spike of varying pippage but not often and far less than other platforms, but I do not use stop loss so spikes do not matter to me. Every patform that I have seen, tried, demoed etc you see price spikes of sometimes hundreds of pips on certain pairs which is why I am not trading with them. For the record I trade with CMS and OANDA neither of which I use indicators on my charts. If you are having problems with CMS I feel for you but you really have to have a high speed connection to trade and trade sensibly. Red flag will raise if you continually scalp on any broker. 2008-05-16 4 Stars I have not had any problems since they upgraded their platform. No crashes no requotes and all my trades have been executed including limit orders and stops and take profits. I do not trade during volatile times and often stay in trades only minutes but mostly longer term. I used to get platform freezes afew years back but honestly I have not had any problems in well over a year. ![]() Author: gonsie

Learned Forex by demoing on their system. When I switched to live trading all was well until they started requoting me everysingle entry and exit of all positions. At one point they requoted me over 50 pips on an order to exit a position. These requotes were the result of time lags in processing my orders ranging from 15 seconds to as long as 1 minute. I attempted to discuss the issue with them and provided documentation of my trades to which their only response was in the form of emails stating that they consider the matter closed. No discussion from anybody, no answers to any questions I posed. Also, be ware, they offer a bonus for opening an account with them if you make a certain number of trades in a certain period, but they never provide it. They are a very bad broker looking to scam and headhunt successful traders.

This place is for honest reviews and not broadcasting your ignorance of naiveness as it relates to trading. You can place your stop loss, take profit as you place your trade with the VT trader.
The primary problem is connection. And as we all know, you need broadband internet to trade efficiently. Cmsfx is a great company ![]() Author: Keith Mason

I have been trading forex for 5 years and with CMS for 4 years, and as I read through some of the comments on here I know exactly what people are talking about because I have experienced most of it, but the 4 years of dealing forex has taught me some valuable lessons. I am trying to be objective in all that I say here.
If you are trying to scalp and enter a volatile market you will be continually re-quoted all the time, of course you will. If I was the broker I would re-quote you as well, and if you were honest about it - if you were the broker |
